One of Puget Sound's finest, most peaceful inlets, Gig Harbor is also a quaint maritime community on the Eastern Shores of the Kitsap Peninsula, across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge from Tacoma and Seattle. This sheltered harbor provides some of the most tidally active shoreline in Puget Sound and among the best flat-water kayaking opportunities in the region. If you crave a little more excitement, the Tacoma Narrows is just outside the mouth of Gig Harbor, providing all the challenges of open-water sea kayaking.
